S. Bridget Wood
Bridget completed a college pre-med program, and graduated with a B.S. degree in Mathematics in the top two percent of her college class, despite having dyslexia. She has traveled to more than 50 countries, and read more than 1,000 books over a short period of time to expand on her formal education. After a successful 17-year career with Verizon Yellow Pages, the stress, long hours, and extensive travel damaged her health. The search for an effective treatment of her fybromyalgia symptoms led her to work with a local Naturopathic physician, and to explore more natural, alternative forms of healing. Her personal healing journey inspired her to leave corporate America at the age of 40 to find a way to help others experience similar relief from chronic illness. She turned her extensive energy toward rigorous training and education in massage, bodywork, and complementary alternative healing practices. She specializes in pregnancy massage, reflexology, and blending a variety of therapeutic deep tissue massage techniques to help people eliminate pain and rehabilitate following illnesses or injuries. Bridget has more than 1,500 hours of accredited massage and bodywork training, along with two years of graduate school education in general psychology and Integrative Health from West Chester University, plus seven years of therapeutic experience. She has worked with over 200 mothers-to-be throughout their pregnancies, and as a massage doula intern she has assisted with 10 amazing births in a variety of settings. As co-founder of the Awakenings Wellness Center, she is committed to providing a level of service matching that found at high-end spas, while delivering the kind of therapeutic results more usually associated with rehabilitation or physical therapy centers.
Camelia Marinescu
Camelia grew up in communist Romania. After graduating from high school she fled Romania with her husband across Eastern Europe into Northern Italy to build a better life for herself and her future children in a free and democratic country. Once she and her husband obtained official residency status in Italy, she worked to support her family and put herself through college to become an esthetician and massage therapist. She graduated near the top of her class, an achievement which caught the attention of one of the top practitioners in Italy. This practitioner employed and mentored her for the next six years in Torino, Italy. In 2006, after 15 years of living and working in Italy, she and her husband immigrated to the United States with their two sons. Once they settled in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, she further developed her expertise as a massage therapist in Pennsylvania and Colorado. She studied to become a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) with Guenter Klose, the preeminent CLT-LANA instructor and therapist in the United States today. Camelia is a very talented Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) specialist whose work with thousands of clients has helped them to recover from injuries or surgical procedures. In particular, she has extensive experience helping clients rehabilitate their bodies following treatment for breast cancer. Studying and working with Dr. Tick has given her a better understanding of how the skin reveals information about the underlying health of an individual. With more than 3,000 hours of esthetics training, and over 10 years of experience working with the skin of thousands of clients, her skill far exceeds that of most American-trained estheticians. As a proud co-founder of Awakenings Wellness Center, she enjoys working in partnership with her clients to rejuvenate and improve their skin from head to toe. Her facials are as enjoyable as they are safe and effective.
